چکیده
A retrospective review of 11 French academic institutions (University Association for Research in Vascular Surgery—AURC) from 2005 to 2017. One hundred and twenty-one transfemoral carotid artery stent (TF-CAS) procedures were performed 112 patients (31% symptomatic). The mean interval between irradiation TF-CAS was 15 years. Duplex ultrasound examination at 1, 6, 12 months, annually thereafter. combined 30-day perioperative stroke mortality rate 6.5%. After 5 years, the neurologic event-free survival 88% in-stent restenosis 39%. Diabetes mellitus single postoperative antiplatelet therapy significant predictors restenosis. is an effective option radiation-induced stenosis. ANGIOPLASTY AND STENTING OF CAROTID ARTERY STENOSIS WITH EMBOLIC PROTECTION DEVICES
Background: Carotid artery stenting (CAS) has recently been recommended as an alternative to carotid endarterectomy (CEA) by some clinicians. Objective: This study was designed to evaluate the success rate and in-hospital and 30-day adverse events in our first experiences in Iran for CAS with protection devices, to document our results and guide further use of CAS. Methods: From December 2...
متن کاملOutcomes of carotid angioplasty and stenting for radiation-associated stenosis.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE In light of their high surgical risk, carotid angioplasty and stent placement may be preferred in patients with radiation-associated carotid stenosis. The purpose of this study was to determine the procedural complication rate, patency, and clinical outcomes after carotid angioplasty and stent placement in this small group of high-risk patients. METHODS Sixteen patients...
متن کاملCarotid Artery Stenosis in Patients with Aortic Valve Stenosis – Short-Term Outcomes after Carotid Artery Stenting
Background: Carotid artery stenosis occurs in 8–13% of patients with degenerative aortic stenosis. The risk of new postoperative stroke after cardiac surgery is thought to be twoto four-fold higher in patients with concomitant carotid stenosis. We evaluated the results of carotid stenting in patients with aortic valve stenosis. Methods: We retrospectively analysed internal database containing p...
متن کاملCarotid angioplasty and stenting in a patient with high grade stenosis of Internal Carotid Artery associated with both vertebral arteries and contralateral carotid occlusion
Severe internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis is a common cause of cerebrovascular accident (CVA) in middle-aged patients. Contralateral carotid occlusion (CCO) in patients with severe ICA stenosis is associated with high risk of CVA. Carotid endarterectomy (CEA) is associated with more complications in patients with CCO than those without CCO. In this study, we present the case of a 61-year-ol...
متن کاملImmediate and late outcomes of stenting for severe extracranial internal carotid artery stenosis in octogenarian patients
Background Multiple studies suggest that internal carotid artery stenting can be performed safely in octogenarians with low periprocedural complication rates. However, great concern still exists as to whether these patients will gain long-term benefits from this procedure given their advanced age and uncertain life expectancy. We decided to conduct a retrospective study to determine short-and l...
